No mention of a unit or section called "BC 3" in Iraq's nuclear energy or nuclear weapons programmes could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

The Research Directorate was informed in an 11 May 1998 telephone interview with a representative of the International Atomic Energy Agency Action Team in Vienna that the Action Team has no knowledge of anything connected to Iraq's nuclear energy or nuclear weapons programmes called "BC 3." The Action Team was established to carry out inspections of sites connected to Iraq's nuclear weapons programme.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints.
