Information on the above-mentioned organization is scarce. The attached Jerusalem Post articles describe Ellen (Ella) Tseitlin (Tzeitlin)-Briskin as the head of the TENNE (Movement for New Immigrant Women) (23 Mar. 1994) and the chairman of TENA (Movement for Immigrant Women) (10 Mar. 1993). Commenting on the rabbinical position on Jewish women whose husbands have refused to divorce them, these articles refer to Tseitlin-Briskin's dissatisfaction with this stance, which has affected many new women immigrants (ibid.).
This response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
