An Amnesty International report states that Farad "was banned by the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance on 11 April [1992]" (Urgent Action 7 May 1992). On the same day the Iranian authorities arrested Naser Arabha, editor-in-chief of Farad, along with three "unnamed colleagues" (Ibid.). Another Amnesty International report maintains that Naser Arabha
was sentenced to six months' imprisonment following a trial held on 16 September 1992. ...A colleague, named as Karimzadeh, who is believed to have been among those arrested at the same time, was tried and sentenced by an Islamic Revolutionary Court to one year imprisonment and a fine (Urgent Action 28 Sept. 1992).
Additional information on the above subjects is currently unavailable to the DIRB.
