2006 Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor - Anguilla (Territory of the United Kingdom)

There is limited information on the extent and nature of child in non-independent countries and territories eligible for GSP, AGOA, ATPA/ATPDEA, and CBTPA benefits. These countries and territories generally are not eligible to become members of the ILO, so ILO Conventions 138 and 182 do not apply to any of them.4607 Territories are subject to the laws of the sovereign country.

There were few significant changes to report in the status of child labor and efforts to address it in the non-independent countries and territories since the last reporting period. For more detailed information on these issues, please refer to the U.S. Department of Labor's 2005 Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor.4608

During the reporting period, new statistics on education in Anguilla became available. In 2004, the gross primary enrollment rate was 93 percent,4609 and the net primary enrollment rate was 88 percent.4610 Gross and net enrollment ratios are based on the number of students formally registered in primary school and therefore do not necessarily reflect actual school attendance.
