The press is free, diverse, and critical and offers a variety of viewpoints. There are no laws that constrain press freedom. A few private newspapers as well as political party journals constitute the print media. The broadcast media consist of one independent radio station and one state-owned radio station. Although, in general, media outlets operate freely without government interference, the state-owned radio station operates under a government-appointed board that exerts some political influence over content and editorial stances.
