Media in the principality are free in principle and practice. Article 12 of the constitution bans censorship and guarantees freedom of expression. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is binding in Andorra, likewise protects press freedom. The legal system provides for the right of reply in cases of slander. Two independent daily newspapers and several weeklies serve the country's 70,000 inhabitants. Andorra has two radio stations, one state-owned and one privately owned, and six television stations. Citizens can receive broadcasts from neighboring France and Spain.
