Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned the indiscriminate attacks against civilians that took place in the Indian city of Hyderabad and led to a number of deaths and injuries.
"He extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of India," Mr. Ban's spokesperson said in a note issued to the press last night.
At least 16 people were reportedly killed and over 100 injured when two explosions struck the busy Dilsukhnagar neighbourhood in Hyderabad, the capital and largest city in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for Thursday's attacks, according to media reports.
