In accordance with the provisions of Para (a) of Article 42 of the Interim Constitution,

The Revolutionary Command Council have decided in their session held on 23.8.1983 the following:

Firstly - Provisions stipulated in the Revolutionary Command Council Resolution No. 585 of 3.5.1982, and its Amendment No. 1467 of 23.11.1982, shall be applied to Iraqi citizens permanently residing in countries other than the Arab Gulf's taking into consideration the following matters:

1. The passport granted to an iraqi citizen residing in countries other than the Arab Gulf's, shall be valid for a one-year period which is renewable for the same period pursuant to the Revolutionary Command Council Resolution No. 525 of 7.5.1983.

2. Trucks' drivers working in external roads between Iraq and other countries (except the Arab Gulf countries) shall not be excluded.

Secondly - Iraqis permanently residing abroad (including those residing in the Arab Gulf countries) shall be allowed to return to Iraq for one of the following purposes without being restricted with the visits times decided for them:

(1)Those wishing to visit the Country to donate for military effort for one time only, provided that the period of their residence in Iraq does not exceed 15 days.

(2)Those called by the State departments officially for such certain works and for a period decided by the competent department according to work nature.

(3)Families of martyrs and lost soldiers, from the first and second degree, by a confirmation from the competent authority, provided that the period of their residence in Iraq does not exceed 45 days.

Thirdly - The Presidency of the Republic may exclude, from the provisions of this Resolution and the other Resolutions referred to in para (Firstly) above, any citizen that the public interest necessitates his exclusion.

Fourthly - This Resolution shall be published in the Official Gazette and the competent authorities are charged with its execution.
