The Supreme Court of Pakistan in its judgement of 31 July 2009 (see attachment) ruled the 2007 declaration of the state of emergency unconstitutional. The Supreme Court also declared the steps taken in declaring the state of emergency to be null and void. See also Constitution (Amendment) Order, 2007.
