Constitution de Gabon, version 2023
Comments:
The version you can find here includes all the amendments made to the Constitution until April 2023. Please note that you will find the 2023 amendments included, while the provisions that were altered by those amendments can still be read as they are put in strike through. After the coup in September 2023 a transitional charter was adopted and the current constitution should be read in conjunction with the transitional charter. A new constitution was adopted by referendum in 2024. Its Article 172 specifies that the articles in the Constitution in relation to the elections (as also stipulated in the transitional Charter) enter into force immediately but that the rest of the Constitution will enter into force only once will have been elected (not scheduled yet but expected in August 2025). The new Constitution and the transitional Charter can be found under related documents for the moment.
