Please find attached a document that reports the abolition of the death penalty in Mozambique in November 1990 (Amnesty International Nov. 1990).

Also attached, please find a report mentioning that Mozambique's "head of state had said on the occasion [the end of Muslim ceremonies, according to the report] that there have been traitors to the nation who were executed" (BBC Summary 20 Apr. 1992). The report does not indicate when the alleged executions would have taken place, nor does it provide further details on the subject. Additional and/or corroborating information could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC.
