Israel is demanding the West slap stiffer economic sanctions on Iran after talks between Iran and the West on curbing Tehran's nuclear program produced no breakthrough.
Vice Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz issued the statement after talks in Washington with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
He also said there was a need "to continue to prepare all other options," suggesting possible military action is not being ruled out.
Six world powers and Iran failed to secure a breakthrough at talks in Moscow this week, the third round under the latest diplomatic initiative, and set no date for more political negotiations.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon expressed regret over the lack of progress in Moscow and urged world powers to "intensify" efforts to avoid a showdown.
