Police say a gunman has wounded the chief justice of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir's high court as he was walking through a park.
Police officer Riaz Abbasi said the attack on Ghulam Mustafa Mughal occurred in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir's capital, Muzaffarabad, on October 25.
Abbasi said the judge was transported to a military hospital and was in stable condition.
Authorities are searching for the shooter.
Kashmir is divided between areas controlled by Pakistan and India.
Both countries claim all of Kashmir, and have fought three wars over the territory.
