However, a Reuters report carried in Horn of Africa Bulletin in August 1995 indicated that Somaliland authorities detained two Scandinavian diplomats and the flight crew of an aircraft that had landed in Hargeisa to repatriate three Somalis deported from Sweden (July-Aug. 1995, 22). According to the Reuters report, the Scandinavians had not obtained the permission of the Somaliland authorities before flying to Hargeisa (ibid.). The diplomats and the flight crew were later released, while the Somalis remained in Somaliland (ibid. Sept.-Oct. 1995, 24).
