Attached please find seven articles on the treatment of Palestinians in Kuwait during the period August 1991 to June 1993. These articles state that during this period Palestinians residing in Kuwait were subject to ill-treatment including rape, execution, detention without trial, imprisonment, deportation, police harassment and denial of employment and residence visas.

Country Reports 1992 refers to the "harassment" of Palestinians in Kuwait, including arbitrary arrests, detention by "unidentified Kuwaitis" and deportations. It also refers to government policies to pressure Palestinians to leave Kuwait (1993, 1035-38).

Amnesty International Report 1993 reports on the detention of Palestinians in Kuwait "on suspicion of collaboration with Iraqi forces during the occupation of Kuwait" (1993, 184). The report also refers to the "disappearance" while in Kuwaiti government custody of a number of foreign nationals, including Palestinians who could have died "under torture or been extrajudicially executed in 1991" (Ibid., 185).

Additional information on the above subjects is currently unavailable to the DIRB.
