A roadside bomb explosion has killed six members of a family traveling in a vehicle in southern Afghanistan.

Provincial spokesman Ahmad Zirak said four men and two women were killed in the February 8 blast in the Nad Ali district of Helmand Province.

Roadside bombs are used extensively by Taliban militants.

A Taliban roadside bomb last killed five civilians, including a family of four, and two police officers in the country's south.
