UN Advance Mission In Sudan

The UN Advance Mission in Sudan (UNAMIS) was set up following the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1547 on 11 June 2004. It was given the task of preparing for a full-fledged UN peace support mission to be deployed during the interim period following the signing of a Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) between the Government of Sudan and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A).  Website: www.unmis.org/
