Cinemas in Kazakhstan have stopped showing "The Dictator," the satire from "Borat" comic actor Sacha Baron Cohen, after two weeks.
Officials of the Interfilm Company that distributes the film in Kazakhstan confirmed to RFE/RL that showings of the movie have been halted, but declined to say why.
Other foreign films that started being shown in Kazakh cinemas at the same time "The Dictator" was released continue to be presented in cinemas.
"The Dictator," which depicts a Middle East-style tyrant, was released worldwide in May.
The movie has been banned in the Central Asian states of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
