Information on the existence and addresses of the offices of the Party of Democratic Renewal (PRD) in Djiboutiville in 1994 could not be found among the published sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

However, during a 9 February 1999 telephone interview, the president of one of the two PRD factions confirmed the existence in 1994 of the PRD office on Avenue Pasteur in Plateau du serpent, which was located in front of the former PRD president's residence. About other PRD offices in Djiboutiville, the source provided the following information.

Djiboutiville comprises five administrative subdivisions (arrondissements) and in 1994 the PRD had a PRD branch (fédération) in each of them. The following were the different locations of those fédérations' offices.

The first fédération's office was based on Avenue 13, Quartier 2 in 1er arrondissement; the office of the 2nd fédération, which also served as the PRD headquarters, was based on Avenue Nasser, Quartier 7, cité Poudrière in 2ième arrondissement; the office of the 3rd fédération was located at Place d'Amboulic in 3ème arrondissemnt; the office of the 4th fédération was based in the house established in front of the the headquarters building of the 4ème arrondissement in the same arrondisement, and the 5th fédération was based in the office based in Quartier Cheuk-Moussa in 5ème arrondissement.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
