Comments This Order was made for the purpose of giving effect in Irish law to the Directive on minimum standards for the qualification and status of third country nationals or stateless persons as refugees or as persons who otherwise need international protection and the content of the protection granted (Directive 2004/83/EC: "the Qualification Directive"). The Regulations represent an interim measure (required by the transposition date of the Asylum Qualification Directive - 10 October 2006) pending the expected enactment of the Immigration, Residence and Protection Bill early 2007.
