Attacks by Iraqi insurgents across Iraq have killed at least 12 people.

In the deadliest attack, at least four employees of a government-run vehicle spare-parts factory were shot dead by gunmen as they were returning by minibus to their homes in the town of Mishahada, 30 kilometers north of Baghdad.

In Baghdad's western Mansur neighborhood, two soldiers were killed in a drive-by shooting at an army checkpoint.

A policeman responding to that shooting was also killed when his car was hit by a roadside bomb.

Elsewhere in Baghdad, in the eastern Mashtal neighborhood, a sniper shot dead a police officer on foot patrol.

Meanwhile, in the northern city of Kirkuk, a child was killed when a motorcycle packed with explosives went off near the passing convoy of a local politician.

In the central city of Baquba, two Shi'ite civilians were killed when gunmen sprayed their car.

And in Tuz Khormato, northeast of Baghdad, a roadside bomb struck a police patrol, killing an officer.
