Malala Yousafzai (left) talks with her father Ziauddin at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham in November 2012.
Pakistan's government has given a diplomatic job to the father of the teenage girl who was seriously wounded when she was shot in the head by a Taliban militant over her work in support of girls' education.
Officials have confirmed that Ziauddin Yousafzai, father of Malala Yousafzai, has been appointed Pakistan's education attache in the British city of Birmingham.
The appointment is reported to be for at least three years.
Malala has been recovering at a hospital in Birmingham since she was shot in October in Pakistan.
The case of the 15-year-old became known around the world and shined a light on the conditions faced by many Pakistani females.
