Shabelle Media Network
May 24, 2012, in Mogadishu, Somalia
Four unidentified gunmen shot Ahmed, 24, as he was in Bo'le Market, in Dharkenley District in Mogadishu. Ahmed was the producer and presenter of a late-night political program "Qubanaha Waraka" (News Content) on the Shabelle Media Network. He had worked there for more than three years, local journalists said.
The precise motive was unclear, but local journalists said Ahmed was very critical of the Somali government and the insurgent group Al-Shabaab.
