Security forces have killed two militants and a woman in a special operation in the city of Khasavyurt in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Daghestan.
The two refused to surrender and fired at the police.
The wife of one of the militants refused to leave her husband, stayed with him, and was also killed in the special operation.
Violence between suspected Islamic militants and security forces in Russia's restive North Caucasus region leaves scores of people dead and injured each year.
Volatile republics in the region include Daghestan, Ingushetia, Chechnya, and Kabardino-Balkaria.
Based on reporting by ITAR-TASS and Interfax
