Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed five police generals. Four of the fired generals were top officers at Russia's Interior Ministry and led the ministry's major departments.
One was the chief of the regional police department in Russia's western Ivanovo Oblast.
Information on the dismissals was posted on the Kremlin's official website (kremlin.ru). No reasons for the firings were given.
