A senior police investigator, at least three other police officers, and two civilians have been killed by a suicide bomber in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar.
A correspondent for RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal reports that Superintendent of Police Hilal Haider died in the attack, which took place in the busy Qissa Khwani Bazaar.
A police official said the bomber was on foot and targeted Haider's vehicle outside a police station.
At least 27 others were wounded and taken to the hospital.
A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban, Ehsanulla Ehsan, took responsibility for Peshawar blast in a phone call to RFE/RL's Radio Mashaal.
