The second round of voting was held December 22.The second round of voting was held December 22.

Reports from Egypt say election authorities were expected to announce December 25 the official results of the vote on the country's draft constitution.

Unofficial results released by the Muslim Brotherhood and other sources have suggested some 64 percent of voters cast ballots in favor of the draft.

Voter approval of the charter would clear the way for parliament elections in about two months.

The draft constitution remains rejected by the pro-reform opposition, which says the text – drawn up by mostly by Islamist allies of President Muhammad Morsi – falls short of guaranteeing democratic freedoms and rights for women and minorities.

The opposition National Salvation Front alliance has also alleged many cases of fraud and electoral violations in the vote, which was held over two stages ending December 22.
