With amendments through 2019. The Constitution was promulgated by the Niue Constitution Act 1974, No. 42 of 1974, dated 29 August 1974. In 2024, two constitutional amendments were enacted which: - replaced in all provisions the word "Premier" to read "Prime Minister (except in Art 72(1)) - Constitution (Title of Head of Government) Amendment Act of 3 September 2024 - amended Article 60 by replacing "Audit Office" with "Auditor-General" - (Constitution (Auditor-General) Amendment Act of 3 September 2024) See attached under 'related documents' for the precise text.
