Salaheddin Channel

Salaheddin was driving home from work in the northern city of Tikrit when a bomb attached to his car exploded, according to news reports. He died after being taken to a local hospital, news reports said.

Salaheddin was a news anchor and political talk show host for Salaheddin Channel, a local TV broadcaster in Salaheddin province, according to Ziad al-Ajili, director of Baghdad's Journalistic Freedoms Observatory. He was also the president of the journalists union in Tikrit, local press freedom groups said. No one claimed responsibility for the attack.

Motive Unconfirmed: CPJ is investigating to determine whether the death was work-related.
