The names of candidates who stood for the parliamentary election of 1995-1996 in Bunyangabu county could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. However, the Uganda Almanac 1997, lists Adolf Mwesige as the member of parliament for Bunyangabu (1997, 61). The Uganda High Commission in Ottawa (2 Apr. 2001) and the East African of 12-18 March 1999 corroborate this information.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
